MDL is a paced serial downloader for fillable, SAL, DAX, and EDAX executable programs. It has a set of built-in second-level loader programs, including SAL, DAX, and EDAX, as well as a large array of hardware diagnostic programs.

MDL also has an integrated serial terminal program which runs after a transfer is complete, so the user can interact with the program that they've just transferred.

MDL has both TUI (ncurses) and GUI modes, selectable via command line options.
